Who we are
At Braids4Kids, we believe that caring for hair is an act of love — one that builds confidence, connection, and cultural pride.
We’re dedicated to helping parents, guardians, and caregivers — especially those raising Mixed, African American, and Multicultural children — feel empowered to care for their child’s hair with knowledge and confidence.
Through hair care education, community events, and inclusive resources, we make hair time easier, mornings smoother, and self-love stronger.
What started as a simple braiding service has grown into a movement of empowerment — one that celebrates every curl, coil, and culture.
ABout Us
-
To educate, uplift, and inspire families through hair care, confidence-building, and community connection.
We believe that when children see their beauty reflected, understood, and celebrated — they carry that confidence into every part of their lives.
Our programs and events focus on:
🌿 Education: Teaching practical hair care routines and healthy habits.
👑 Confidence: Helping every child see the beauty of their own reflection.
💕 Community: Building safe, inclusive spaces for families to connect and grow.
-
To create a world where every child — regardless of background or ability — feels seen, celebrated, and confident in who they are.
We aim to bridge the gap for families navigating new textures, new routines, or new confidence journeys, making sure no parent or child ever feels alone in the process.
-
Braids4Kids began in 2021 with a single goal — to make hair care less stressful and more joyful for families.
What started as one-on-one styling and education soon became something much bigger: a community built on love, learning, and representation.
We’ve supported countless families — including foster and adoptive parents — as they learned how to care for their children’s hair with patience, pride, and purpose.
Now, we’re expanding beyond the chair — offering digital resources, workshops, and community events like The Crown Within, designed to nurture self-esteem, self-love, and self-expression in every child.
-
Every child deserves to feel confident and included — and that means making sure every program, event, and lesson is SPED-accessible, welcoming, and affirming.
Representation matters. Accessibility matters. And most of all, every child matters.
